A. Outcome
The jobholder is responsible for delivering the following:
- Planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of a project to ensure that the most cost effective, timely and appropriate solutions are developed to fulfil the company's business goals.
- Motivation and support of project team members to achieve set project objectives within time and to the specified costs, quality and performance.
- Responsible for day to day management of the project and delivery of the project deliverables within the constraints agreed by VWIO.
- Establish appropriate standards and working practices with the project team. Produce project documentation and plans to the same guidelines
- Supporting the Programme Manager/Director by reporting on the status and progress of project deliverables and the financial status of the project.
- Developing and managing the project budget and reporting on this on a weekly and monthly basis to senior management.
- Responsible for managing the relationship with external suppliers to define and agree business needs objectives and system requirements.
- Contribute to or produce objectives and annual appraisals for any matrixed or direct reports.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex issues stating potential options with clear defined recommendations for future directions or the project.
- Developing and supporting skill and personal development of project team members by supporting their technical and non-technical abilities.
B. Authorities
The jobholder has authority to:
- Complete Project Management activities under agreed Programme Management authority.
- Update, maintain and administer project office procedures and tools and central repository or project documentation.
- Liaise with all of the Business in order to achieve timeplan outcomes.
C. Competence
The competencies required for this role are:
1. Technical
- Broad knowledge of business systems and processes and specific knowledge of Group systems and processes.
- Chemical, mechanical or electrical engineering background
- Strong project management skills, abilities and experience of projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Business analyst methods including process mapping, systems design and data design.
- Knowledge of business procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements in the Water Industry
- Experience of change management
2. Role
- Ability to manage and lead a team and also to work as part of a team when required.
- Ability to interact with people at all levels by utilising strong interpersonal skills.

D. Environment
- A busy office environment.
- 37 hours a week within a five day week, Mon-Fri.
- Flexible approach to working hours - overtime to meet specific deadlines.
- Travel to all sites and work from anywhere in company when required.

- Full training will be provided during plant start up and commissioning
- Backup of working for the largest water operator in the world
- Hours worked to be as necessary to successfully carry out the role but in any event to be no less than 37 hrs/week?
