A. Objective - Main purpose of the job

Responsible for operating and maintaining the new VWIO effluent treatment plant at site. The plant comprises of a mechanically driven evaporation system to treat a dilute waste stream containing mainly sodium nitrate. The concentrated sodium nitrate is tankered off site for disposal and the condensate recovered for reuse within the works.

B. Knowledge, skills and qualifications

Technician with ONC/HNC minimum education equivalent
Process / production background
Desirable - experience of onsite commissioning and trouble-shooting
Able to work on own initiative
Operations - have worked as a process operator previously and be willing to learn to multitask in basic maintenance tasks. or
Maintenance - have a trade as a mechanic or electrician and be willing to learn to multitask as a process operator. One of the team of 6 should have worked closely with large compressors previously (we will have 2 x 1500kw compressors).

C. Main tasks

Liaise with site manager on operational issues
Operation and routine maintenance
Assist commissioning on-site and site acceptance test.
Data collection
Sampling and analysis
Reporting
Chemical preparations
Consumable replacement
Non-conformance reporting
Supervision of truck operations
Trouble-shooting
Housekeeping
COSHH Materials and Chemical Data Sheets
Assist with safety/environmental audits
Liaise with JM personnel where required
Respond to emergency call outs when required

D. Multi-tasking

The site is a small team of 6 people, therefore each team member must be willing to undertake whatever tasks are necessary to run the site, including housekeeping, painting, administration, chemical dosing, running lab tests, taking readings, safety audits etc.

Full training will be provided during plant start up and commissioning
